Analyzing Ryan Reynolds' Baggage and Beard

Again, I'm impressed. It was a really tough call, but the winner is Bri Glei, who guessed that Ryan Reynolds might carry this in his man purse:

A membership card in the "Joaquin Phoenix Bearded Freakout Society"

Sorry Ryan Reynolds, but it is kind of funny.

I LOL'd when I read that, though it pains me, since I have always been a huge fan of Joaquin Phonex as an actor. I'm not sure what to think of his "retirement", though. And Ryan Reynolds hasn't been known to freak out, really. His beards aren't really out of control, either. I just like the idea of very exclusive and randomly themed Hollywood clubs and conspiracies. Ones that rquire a membership card. I wonder how much the dues would be?  Agenda topics?  Other members?  Community service activities?  Feel free to leave your ideas in the comments.

I won't even get into whether or not Ryan Reynolds is better bearded, or not. If you want that conversation, go here:  http://www.thejay.com/2008/02/13/ryan-reynolds-better-bearded/

Many of you wrote in some very perceptive and well-studied items, though (Akila, I nearly picked your Scarlett J. bull nose ring suggestion!).

Keep up the good work!

Yay! Why thank you thank you. And yes, Akila's nose ring theory was very compelling. Awesome photoshopping the membership card. If I send a picture of one of the number of weird-ass facial hair arrangements I had in undergrad, I think the Society would make me an honorary member.

This card is genius, and I have a few bearded pictures that might make me a member. I want in!
